Wrapping Up The Month Of April

And just like that, we’ve come to the last day of April and autumn is starting to unofficially present itself here in Sydney.

Can I be honest?

I haven’t been as intentional with my personal development this year as I had hoped. Life got in the way coupled with a few bouts of sheer laziness and procrastination. As our friends in the northern hemisphere usher in spring in its full glory, i’ll be tapping into that energy of growth and renewal and make a conscious effort to work on my development.

This month i’ve been…

Loving beetroot latte. LOVING! I know, I’m late to the party. As I’ve slowly cut down on my caffeine consumption, I’ve had to introduce other warm and creamy drinks into my rotation. I’ve always been a fan of dirty soy chai latte and I feel like the beetroot latte packs the same flavour punch without the caffeine. Granted, it is an acquired taste and is a healthier option overall than chugging down chai latte with a shot of espresso. I am super proud of myself for embracing beetroot in this form. Next step would be to add beetroot slices to a homemade salad. Pray for me gals.

Listening to the Joel Osteen podcast and The Simple Sophisticate podcast on the iTunes podcast app. I love me some Joel Osteen. I love listening to Joel and Victoria’s sermons on my commute to work every week. No matter what mood I’m in, I always get a word that sets me up for the rest of the week. From a lifestyle perspective, I’ve always been an avid reader of Shannon Ables’ blog The Simply Luxurious Life and her podcast The Simple Sophisticate is a natural progression from her written content.

Reading the curated closet by Anuschka Rees. I would like to spend the rest of the year pruning my current closet and curating one that reflects the current stage in life I find myself, and the story I want to tell the people that meet me from my appearance. I’m still reading the book and I love what I’ve read so far. The standout for me is that there’s no emphasis on fitting into one of the fashion themes that you come across in magazines.

Tell me…how has your month been? Have you read or tried anything interesting that I should look into?
